Popis Produktu
Common use
Duphaston contains dydrogesterone, a synthetic hormone similar to progesterone. The medication is used to restore the hormone balance when synthesis of progesterone in the body is not sufficient (sterility, abortion, premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, secondary amenorrhea, dysfunctional uterine bleeding). The medication stimulates beginning of the secretory phase in the endometrium thereby reducing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and carcinogenesis, which increases due to estrogen.
Dosage and direction
Each condition requires special treatment and dose schedule. Follow all instructions of your doctor. To treat endometriosis take 10 mg of Duphaston two or three times a day from 5th to 25th day of your cycle. To treat infertility take 10 mg a day from 14th to 25th day of your cycle. The treatment should be done continuously for three, six and more following cycles. Contact your doctor about all details.
Precautions
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before to take this medication. Hormone replacement therapy should not be administered without a general medical examination, including pelvic examination. Your doctor may ask you to make mammogram examination regularly.
Contraindications
This medication cannot be used in individuals with hypersensitivity to Duphaston, Dubin-Johnson syndrome (an increase of conjugated bilirubin without elevation of liver enzymes), Rotor syndrome (a benign autosomal recessive bilirubin disorder).
Side effects
The most frequent adverse reactions include headache, nausea, dizziness, bloating, skin reactions (rash and itching), breast tenderness, menstrual spotting between periods
Drug interaction
Inductors of microsomal liver enzymes such as phenobarbital may accelerate the metabolism of Duphaston and weaken its effect.
Missed dose
If you forgot to take a dose contact your doctor about necessary actions.
Overdose
There is not information about possible overdose. Seek immediate medical help if you suspect overdose.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F). Store away from moisture, heat, and sunlight. It is not recommended to store in a bathroom and places available for children.
